Our feet mean so much to us, so let's take care of them!

My mother always told me that your feet must always be comfortable.

Did you know?

In any free standing structure, the foundation is of utmost importance. Our foundation is our feet! Our whole body is supported by our feet! Our feet then support our body's weight bearing joints, which are continuously experiencing trauma. The daily trauma that our feet are experiencing is dependent on our body weight, our lifestyle, and our footwear.

Foot pain and dysfunction caused by illness or injury can force you to modify the way you walk and create significant stresses on the joints of your legs, hips, and lower spine. Because your feet are the foundation for your entire body, when they suffer from pain, misalignments, malformations, and malfunctions, your whole body is placed in jeopardy. Even without pain, foot dysfunction can cause your whole body to overcompensate, which can lead to back pain and even headache, not to mention the emotional stress of discomfort and limitations on movement that can spread from the feet upward.

Footwear is not what is was.

Unfortunately, footwear is not what it used to be. In the past, shoes were made to fit specifically for your own feet, and today they are made in numbers. The support in shoes today in not what it used to be, so in some cases, foot orthotics can be a solution.
